About Krissy's Kake Art in Waynesboro, Virginia
I'm Krissy Roudabush, the baker behind Krissy's Kake Art. I create custom wedding, birthday and celebration cakes from my home kitchen in Waynesboro, with every order handled by me from the first conversation through the final details.

I Didn't Start With a Bakery Plan
During a season of grief and loss, I found myself drawn to baking in a way I had not expected. I had always been creative. Drawing and painting were familiar to me. Baking was something new to study, practice and figure out.
I started watching baking programs, working through recipes and sketching ideas. Then I made cupcakes for my family. Seeing them enjoy something I had made gave me a reason to keep going.
Baking became part of my healing, but it also gave my creativity somewhere new to go. Before long, friends and neighbors were asking me to make cakes for birthdays, graduations, weddings and other celebrations. What started in my own kitchen became Krissy's Kake Art.

The Design Starts With the Person
My background in drawing and painting still affects the way I approach cake. I pay attention to color, balance, composition and the small details that make a design feel finished.
But I do not begin with decoration. I begin with the person and the occasion.
Who is the cake for? What are you celebrating? What colors, flowers, themes or personal details matter? How many people need to be served? What kind of event is it going into?
Those answers shape the design. Depending on the cake, that may show up through piped florals, rosettes, wreaths, drips, hand-lettering, sculpted elements, character work or a cleaner finish built around a few specific details.
Inspiration photos can help me understand what catches your eye. The point is not to make somebody else's cake again. It is to understand the direction you like and create something that makes sense for your event.

You Work Directly With Me
Krissy's Kake Art is owner-operated. When you send an inquiry, you are talking with me.
I am the person working through the design, serving needs and practical details with you. I am also the person responsible for the cake itself and for coordinating the parts of the order that have to happen beyond the kitchen.
That matters because custom cake orders have a lot of moving pieces. Event dates, guest counts, venue access, delivery, setup and presentation can all affect the plan. My job is to understand those details before event day instead of leaving them to chance.
Weddings Need a Serving Plan, Not Just a Display Cake
Wedding cakes are an important part of the work I do. That includes smaller cutting cakes as well as two-tier, three-tier and four-tier cakes, coordinating sheet cakes, cupcakes and reception setups.
For larger guest counts, one option is to pair a tiered display or cutting cake with coordinating sheet cakes. The display cake stays at the center of the cake table and photographs, while the additional cakes provide the servings the room actually needs. Colors, borders, piping and other details can be planned together so the full cake order looks connected.
I am comfortable planning cake service for events of up to 300 guests when the order and serving plan are a fit. Depending on the event, I can also provide delivery and setup, assemble stacked cakes on site, place toppers or fresh florals, and coordinate cake-related details with the venue, planner or florist.

Celebrations Get the Same Attention to the Details
Weddings are only part of the picture. I also make custom cakes for birthdays, bridal and baby showers, graduations, anniversaries, retirements and family celebrations.
Sometimes the design is floral and understated. Sometimes it is a sculpted animal, a car, a favorite character, a theme or a hand-lettered detail that means something to the person receiving it. The portfolio is intentionally varied because the people and occasions are varied.
Whatever the event, I want enough information to understand what the cake needs to look like, how many people it needs to serve and what has to happen to get it where it needs to be.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
— Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV
My faith is part of who I am, and serving people well matters to me. That is the heart behind the line that has stayed with Krissy's Kake Art: Love God · Love People · Love Kake.
A cake may be one part of a much bigger day, but it is a part people gather around. I take that responsibility seriously, from the design conversation to the final details.
If you have an event coming up, tell me the date, the occasion, the number of people you need to serve and what you have in mind. That is enough to start the conversation.
